Raider power is alive and well. Coming off a huge win against the hated Longhorns they have all the momentum and will win this game. Oklahoma State will be a strong opponent but I don’t believe they can defeat the Red Raiders at home. Oklahoma State has a great offense similar to Tech, but I don’t think they can defend against the Tech onslaught that will happen later today. Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree are the best tandem in the Big 12. They have a running game now. I just wish they would add a few more attack schemes to it, like putting two running backs in the game. The defensensive play has been great thus far. The defensive backs are improving each game. If the offensive line can dominate the game the way they have all year Tech will have a great day. Please Mike no crazy fourth down plays. One more thought. Why hasen’t Texas used that rugby kick all year. It really changed the game. Guns up!

This will be a mantra of thoughts. I don’t like how you guys in the media can take advantage of players in infortunate circumstances. You will do anything to get your headline. But at what cost to the families you destroy. Do you people have a concience????? I think the horse racing world should get a grip. If you can’t shoot yourself up don’t shove it up a horse’s ass. Athletes can risk they’re lives but don’t require innocent animals to do the same. I liked the Stanley Cup playoffs. You have got a fan. NBA blah blah blah.
I love reading. You get so much more out of a book than a movie. If you have not read Robert Jordan’s books get to it. Brandon Sanderson will finish the last chapter for the late Jordan. He is a great author himself. Check out Elantris and the Mistborn trilogy. Here are my favorites.
Brandon Sanderson
Vince Flynn
James Patterson
David Baldacci
Michael Connelly
John Grisham

Both teams have improved tremendously in the last month. But I’m most impressed with the Astros. Lance Berkman leads the league with a .394 batting average and 15 HR. Jose Valverde has 4 wins and 11 saves. They are 24-19 and 2.5 games behind the Cubs. Hunter Pence is improving at the plate and is fielding great. Wandy Rodriquez is returning soon. I know Berkman cannot possibly keep up this torrid pace and carry them all season, but I’m enjoying the ride. The Rangers are improving daily. If they can keep pitching the way they have I’ll keep watching. I’m looking forward to another head to head matchup tonite.
I am really excited about Red Raider football this year. Most of the best offense in the Big 12 is returning. Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree will tear things up. They just need some defensive support. The secondary has improved by what I saw in the Red-Black game. If Mike Leach can get over his obsession with fourth down attempts they may have something. I know it’s like asking a Zebra to change his stripes but it does need to change. Yes, you have an incredible offense but you can’t constantly have the defense defend only have half the field. Give them a fighting chance. They will problably give you a better starting position rather than the other side of the field. Gun’s up and have a great season.
I don’t understand this decision to aquire Pac man Jones from the Tennessee Titans. He is unproven in the league and a large liability. He is not even elligible to play in the league! Jerry Jones is friendly with the commish and thinks that will solve it all and get him reinstated! The guy is a criminal and does not deserve to play! You have already adopted the biggest troublemaker in the league (Terrell Owens) and now you have gotten another one. I bet he’s arrested again before the season ends. There will problably be a murder trial. Why can’t you find a quality DB in the draft and forget this nonsense. He will not help the morale of this team.
The truth is that athletes are going to find any way to get an advantage against another team or player. Whether that advantage is chemically enhanced or through natural training is something that is causing debate not only with fans but with our overly intrusive government. The senate and congress should be worrying about countless other things that really matter. So why not have two different leagues? A steroid league and a regular league. Any athlete who tests positive for illegal drugs or is suspected of using is automatically sent to the steroid league and can use whatever substance they want. Hey, they are only hurting themselves. They play they’re season and get to face the regular league in the ultimate game or series. I think it would be an interesting fantasy league matchup.
Opening home day at Dell Diamond was a treat. I was able to see batting practice for the Express. And during the session Reggie Abbercrombie stressed something and finished early. And then I was able to see something really special to me. The starting pitcher (Jack Cassel) and his catcher (J.R.House) were warming up in left field. Just usually warm up stuff until Cassell kept backing up and steadily throwing strikes. He backed up to near center field and still threw on a line to the catcher who threw just as hard and online as he did. These guys have arms! Cassell goes on to pitch 5 innings with no hits. You will be back as an Astro. Thank’s for the show.
The Astros went 1-3 in they’re opening series with the Padres. Not the way they wanted to start the season. Granted the Padres have a great pitching staff and hosted the series in that huge ballpark. I still think the Astros should have split the series. They have a weak pitching staff but the offense could of made more of a contribution. As the season progresses I’m sure Pence Lorretta and Lee will put up better numbers. They pulled it off in game 3. Good luck against the Cubs.
Opening day started off great and ended not so great. Michael Young homered on the first pitch he was offered. Terrific I’m happy. From there it was a downward spiral to the pits. Milton Bradley get’s hit on the foot and proceeds to firstbase. The umpire disagrees and calls him back. Bradley takes ball four and slings his bat to the ground. He tries to steal second and is thrown out. Ian Kinsler was sick with the flu and was of no use to the team. The only thing that kept my enthusiasm for the game was Michael Young’s contributions to my fanasy league. He went 3-5 and a stolen base. Rangers lose 2-5.
